Formerly known as Episcopal Charities, Episcopal Ministries is an arm of outreach for the Diocese of Long Island. It gives money to charitable endeavors both inside and outside of the diocese, often focusing on giving parishes the ability to fund the creation of new ministry projects (i.e. paying for renovations or staffing) that then provide community outreach.
Trinity has often participated in Episcopal Ministries’ annual appeal, and the Vestry has often voted to use parish outreach funds to ‘match’ special offerings collected from parishioners. Many parishioners will also make a yearly ‘pledge’ to Episcopal Ministries, with the understanding that the ministry of the Diocese is ‘our ministry’, meaning the ministry of all the parishes that make up the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island.
