Boy / Girl Scouts

During a recent sermon the Rector asked the congregation by a show of hands how many of them have served as girl or boy scouts during their lifetime. At least two thirds of those gathered raised their hands. Scouting has thus played a large part in the lives of Trinity’s members, as it seeks to help young people develop character and grow into upstanding adults, and one of our own, Herb McGrail, was recently honored for mentoring his 1000th Eagle Scout.

Each year we at Trinity seek to ask God’s blessings upon our scouts during a Scout Sunday. On this day the scouts of the parish prepare breakfast, invite and host their fellow troop members who are not parishioners, enjoy a fellowship activity, and then participate in the day’s worship, where God is praised and where we ask God’s blessings upon them.

In addition, Trinity serves as the chartering organization for local Boy Scout Troop 400.
