MEMORIALS

Historically, members of Trinity have contributed to memorial funds for the purchase of items or building structures in the name of family members, or as memorials of their faith after they have passed away. However, the Vestry asks for Memorials to be made without designation, unless they receive pre-approval.

While such beautiful and historical elements as the Tiffany-made stained glass windows, donated as memorials, will be enjoyed for generations, some lovely gestures have forced churches to use gifts for items that they do not need. For instance, one received a designated endowment for candles and candlesticks in the early part of the century that is now worth hundreds of thousands of dollars; meanwhile the church has capital expenses that are going begging. Please trust in your vestry as Trinity trusts in you!

Often, the vestry is made aware of needed improvements or items, and puts them in a list for review. Those requests are funded through operating funds when the need becomes critical or if a generous donor offers to help out.

For instance, currently the Altar Guild fund is low because flower donations are down. The Altar Guild provides all of the items on the Altar, in addition to repairing and replacing hangings and vestments. Currently, the vestments are very worn and will need to be replaced. Replacing the Chasuble & stole, Priest stole (broad), Frontal, two lecturn hangings and veil will cost an estimated $2,269.

A list of past memorials, ongoing memorials and recommended memorials will be provided soon.
